Babydog is here!

This is a quick post I will do a longer one to tell all about her birth later! Babygirl got here on Monday at 8:03am weighing 7 pounds and 10 oz and has stolen the hubby's and my heart!
Here are a few pictures until I do the full post.

Preggo update 37 weeks!!

How far along: 37 weeks {a few days early}

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a watermelon . According to our sonogram 2 weeks ago baby was 5 .5 pounds and if he/she continues to grow at this rate baby will be 7.5 to 8 pounds when he/she arrives.

Sleep: is getting harder and more uncomfortable. Plus I am keeping the Hubby awake too so we are both suffering!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes-all the time now along with my support socks and beautiful support belt!

Movement: Yes all the time- baby has moved into the head down position already and has his/her butt up against my ribs and when it moves man is it is starting to hurt! He/she is kicking almost all the time.

Aversions: nothing really at this point I am just not in the mood for some things when they are suggested to me.

Labor Signs: Yep along with the Braxton Hicks- I am having small contractions that according to my doctor have me dilated to 3cm and 70% effaced. So we are playing a waiting game at this point!

What I Miss: nothing really- sleep would be nice!

What I'm Looking Forward To: seeing this beautiful baby and finding out what we are having!
Weekly Wisdom: be ready for whatever comes our way!

Best Moment This Week: Seeing the Hubby realize that we are having a baby in a matter of a few weeks.

30ish days...

Well since babydog could make an appearance in the next 30ish days I decided to see what people are thinking- is he/she going to be a strong, take after his daddy, boy or a sweet, yet strong, wrap her daddy around her finger girl? 35 Week update!!

How far along: 35 weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a honeydew melon. According to our sonogram last baby is 5 .5 pounds and if he/she continues to grow at this rate baby will be 7.5 to 8 pounds when he/she arrives.

Sleep: is going OK- it is getting harder to sleep all through the night I wake up about 3-4 times to switch sides because my hips hurt when I lay on them too long and my back has started to hurt a little also but I have started using a pillow for my back and the body pillow is still my friend for the hips and it helps!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes-all the time now along with my support socks and beautiful support belt!

Aversions: nothing really at this point I am just not in the mood for some things when they are suggested to me.

Labor Signs: I have started having Braxton Hicks- they don’t hurt but the belly does get very hard! I have also had some pain with the stretching of my growing baby and belly- it seems to be getting very heavy! Also I have started getting nauseated again- causing me to have to get some blood work at my appointment.

What I Miss: nothing really- but I am having a hard time bending over and breathing so I kind of miss that!

What I'm Looking Forward To: getting the baby’s room set up and ready

Weekly Wisdom: stay patient- not everyone feels the urgency I feel!

Best Moment This Week: getting to see the baby and knowing that everything is going well and right on schedule.

Today I am linking up with Neely- This week it's OK- That I slept until 10 twice I AM on Christmas break That I hardly did anything yesterday- I am 8 months preggo I am excited "like a child" for Christmas with my family That all I can think about these days is getting the baby's room ready I love reruns of the New Adventures of Old Christine I watched 4 hours of Spike TV yesterday To know that I am going to over pack for a trip to my parents To only have one pair of shoes that fit

On a side note I wanted to say Happy Christmas I am not sure I will be doing any posting over the holiday weekend- we are headed back to my hometown to see the family!

Baby overload…

It has been like baby central around here- the Hubby has been working so hard getting the changing table built and putting the crib together and I have done a little shopping. Here are a few pictures of the Hubby and a few of the things I bought!

All the changing table needs now is some paint- we are planning to do it in white, to match the crib-

I will have a finished picture when we get the bedding put on.

So with all this building and getting ready I went shopping today- this is really the first trip I have made for baby stuff and for sure my first trip by myself. I tried very hard not to go overboard and I think I did OK- here are the only things I bought- for baby that is.

I did spend a little on myself a few maternity shirts and a few stocking stuffers for the family!

Preggo update

How far along: 32 weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a squash (still).

Sleep: is going OK for the most part- I have a few nights where I wake up several times. I have had a hard time sleeping on my back again- I wake up and my thigh is asleep- plus the 3-3:30 wake up is still happening! I am just glad that after tomorrow I get 2 weeks to sleep late!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes-all the time now along with my support socks and beautiful support belt!

Movement: Yes all the time- baby is now moving more during the day- and for this week has moved vertical (thank goodness) because kicks are more to the top of my belly!

Cravings: everything! It seems that I cannot get enough to eat- I am hungry all the time!

Aversions: it seems that I am over for the most part the chicken (I had to cut and prepare some last night and did OK)

Labor Signs: I have started having some mild Braxton Hicks- they don’t hurt but the belly does get very hard!

What I Miss: nothing really- but I am having a hard time bending over so I kind miss that!

What I'm Looking Forward To: getting the baby’s room set up and ready
Weekly Wisdom: try not to go crazy with the holiday’s coming up and eating everything in sight!
Best Moment This Week: getting to hear the baby and scheduling our next sonogram for after Christmas. (My doctor wants to check the size of baby because I failed the 1 hour glucose test)

Christmas and Kiddos

I got my computer back so I thought I would post a little bit about my school kiddos! I love this time of year with them because it is wonderful to see Christmas through the eyes of a child- my kids are not just any child either they are kids who get excited to get the smallest gift- Sure they ask for the big gifts like an iphone, xbox, computers, etc but they also love the small stuff we give them- like pencils, erasers, and such- I love to see the look on there faces when they get a present from their teacher! It is like what you remembered me?! Why yes- yes I did- this year I am slacking off a little I am blaming it on the preggo brain, I usually give my kids pencils, erasers, stickers and such and always include an ornament- this year I did not find the ornament and I am feeling a little guilty about it. Guess I am going to have to live with it this year and get back on the ball for next year!

Well it seams I am going to be forced to take an unexpected break. My computer crashed... I have sent it to be worked on and the guy said he was not sure what the problem is. Guess it is a good thing the hubby got me this fancy phone so I can still have touch with the outside world! I gave some catching up to do on all y'alls blogs. Week 30 bumpdate!

How far along: 30 weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a squash.

Sleep: seems to be all I want to do lately- it seems the 3^rd trimester has set in!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes-all the time now along with my support socks and beautiful support belt- I have ditched the boot! My foot is doing much better- still swells, but feel so much better!

Movement: Yes all the time- baby seems to be most active at night- I feel him/her during the day but not as much- but right now I am still loving all the kicks and hits!

Cravings: Peanut butter and beef!

Aversions: last week is was the smell of cooking brussel sprouts, but day to day it is the smell of raw chicken.
Labor Signs: I have started having some mild Braxton Hicks- they don’t hurt but the belly does get very hard!

What I Miss: nothing really- at this point I am so blessed to be having this beautiful baby growing with me!
What I'm Looking Forward To: the Hubby getting the changing table built.
Weekly Wisdom: start walking again now that the foot is doing better.
Best Moment This Week: how much the Hubby love playing with the baby!

So I have something new...

The hubby bought me my very first phone that does more than call and text people. I am pretty excited about it too!! He bought me an iPhone 4s he likes to say the s is for sexy, I say OK!! So this is my first post from the phone and I thought I would drop dump some pictures I have taken so far... They are from over Thanksgiving. I will also have a bump date later today as soon as I get home and take a picture of the belly!!

Not a planned break- I have just been so tired and not able to get myself on the computer to post! So for a quick update- I passed my 3 hour glucose test so Thanksgiving will be great because I can eat whatever I want- We had our first baby shower and had a blast {will post some picks later} and I have entered the third trimester and so far it is kicking my butty! I have been so tired I am hoping this is just a phase because I have had some sinus issues too- I am so excited to see my family this week and I hope you are too {excited to see your family that is}!

Failed!!

Well it seems that get to take my glucose test all over again anyway! You see I failed the one hour test meaning my sugars did not “go down” to an acceptable level in the one hour given, so now I have to take the 3 hour test! I get to drink the drink and get my blood drawn at 1 hour 2 hours and then at the 3 hour mark. If by the end of the 3 hour mark if my sugars are down to a normal rate then I am set to continue with normal eating- if they are not down then I have to see a specialist and it is diagnosed at gestational diabetes… no fun right before Thanksgiving! But better safe than sorry- so I will be fasting on Sunday again and testing starting at 7AM on Monday morning! The good news is since the lab open so early {at 7} I only have to take a half day off work! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Preggo hormones

So for the most part my hormones have been on the OK side, no huge public breakdowns, and only one or two breakdowns at home. Well today was the day for a public one and it was not really my fault… you see today I was to have my glucose test (the one to test for gestational diabetes), so I fasted last night and this morning until my appointment time at 9:00. I get to the office sign in get settled and the nurse comes out she says “ You are only 26 weeks and 4 days right- yes I reply- well it is too early for you to take the test we do it at 28 weeks…” my jaw dropped and my face flushed I am sure my blood pressure went through the roof because I had taken a whole day off work for this appointment, because you have to drink the drink sit and wait for an hour and then get blood work then see the Doctor- again all I could think was I took a freaking whole day off and you are going to send me on my marry way and make me reschedule…. are you kidding- I am trying to save days for when the baby comes no waist them! Well she tells me you will get to see the doctor so lets go on back… OK my brain has settled down some but I am a little pissed and a lot upset…. She weighs me (no gain from last time!!) and takes my blood pressure which as I thought was high- and tells me to wait. So I sit and I get more and more upset thinking how I have wasted a whole day and that I only have about 14 days stored up to use when the baby comes and then I start loosing money and I get more frustrated… Well the doctor comes in and says “I am so sorry you were supposed to drink the drink and now we have to schedule you again”- I say yep and I have to take another day off- and then I loose it start crying- not the boohoos but the slow cry of anger and sadness- she looks at me and says you had to take a whole day off- yes I reply in a sad little sob and in order to come again I will have to take another day off and we are trying to save days- she hands me a tissue and says “well screw it lets get you the drink, you are only a week and 3 days early and if I were you I would be so mad.” Well I was not really mad I was upset… and the hormones had taken over- to make me cry. What started off as a day where I had to cry turned into a day where I drank a flat orange soda and had blood drawn- tomorrow will bring the results so lets hope I don’t have to make another trip to do the test again….

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of an eggplant.

Please ignore the beautiful green pants- they are PJ bottoms!

Sleep: is going well- it is weird I keep waking up at 3:30 almost on the dot- it is crazy!!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes-all the time now along with my support socks and beautiful support belt I have a new boot- you see I managed to fall off a porch step and break my foot.

Movement: Yes all the time- it is truly amazing! The Hubby is even able to wake baby and get him/her moving!

Cravings: Peanut butter and Snickers yummy!!

Aversions: Still just the chicken.
Labor Signs: nope thank goodness!!
What I Miss: nothing really- at this point I am so blessed to be having this beautiful baby growing with me!
What I'm Looking Forward To: the Hubby getting the changing table built.
Weekly Wisdom: keep eating healthy snacks and not so many Snickers.

What a day- I mean how do you explain the day that you knew your life would change?? You see on this day 3 years ago I kissed the man I was going to marry. I ~~met~~ was set up with the hubby at a Halloween party thrown by my sister and her neighbor and we spent the whole party talking and planning the next days date. I spent the day cleaning up my house and we decided to meet up and watch a football game- I can’t even remember who was playing but, I do remember that I did not want the hubby to make the drive back to Atown, 3 hours away. From that day on we have not got one day without talking and I am so thankful to my sister and her neighbor for setting us up and making me the most happy wife and soon to be mother in the world!

PS in case you did not notice we only have 100 days until babydog arrives!

How far along: 24 Weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a papaya or an ear of corn… 3 weeks ago baby was 1 pound 4 oz. So I am sure baby is larger than that!!

Sleep: is going well- it is weird I keep waking up at 3:30 almost on the dot- it is crazy!!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes-all the time and now I am sporting some sexy new support socks because I was having such bad swelling because of my veins…

Beautiful right!!

Movement: Holy Moly- yes all the time- even hard enough to wake me up! Even hard enough to move the remote when I have placed it on my belly.

Cravings: Nothing really this week. I am just hungry almost all the time.

Aversions: Still just the raw chicken.

Labor Signs: nope thank goodness!!

What I Miss: being able to sit and chat with friends without having to adjust sitting and standing all the time.
What I'm Looking Forward To: cooler temps to go with my new socks!

Weekly Wisdom: eat healthier (the nurse was not too happy with my weight gain this time)

Best Moment This Week: feeling the baby kick so hard that it moved the remote in my lap!

Totally Random!

So this is a totally random post- I don’t have anything too exciting going on {well except for the growing human I have in my belly}. It is funny it seems all I want to talk about these days is being a mom and what is going on with baby, but I have realized not everyone wants to talk baby and I get it- If I was not going through this amazing experience I would probably not want to talk about it either! So anyway this is my place to talk about whatever I want since it is my blog and by golly I can! A few things I have been worried about and thinking about-

1. Baby is due in 16 weeks- feels like a lifetime and super fast all at the same time!

2. Weight- it has turned into a 4 letter word! I don’t feel like I have gained a huge amount of weight and I am happish with my new size- but according to my OB’s nurse it seems I am gaining a little too much… granted my feet and legs were the size of cantaloupes when I weighed in last at the office. According to my home scale I have only gained about 20 pounds so far…

3. Who knew baby showers would be so stressful! You see with the baby due in February- my end travel date is December 29th- meaning I can’t be more than about 30 miles from the hospital I am delivering at- which also means any baby shower my family is planning to throw will have to be after baby is born because Thanksgiving and Christmas are fast approaching and throwing a baby shower is kinda out of the question. Well you might say not a big deal- have a shower after baby is born- yes great, but what are we supposed to do in the mean time for stuff for the baby- like essentials- car seat, stroller, bedding, burp cloths, dipper bag etc. all the things we would hope to be showered with before baby gets here! { Now don’t get me wrong I am NOT complaining about people wanting to throw me a shower it just never occurred to me how difficult it would be to have a baby around the holidays}

4. This beautiful baby is going to have to come out of me and I would LOVE to have our family and out of town friends here to experience it with me… only when I moved to Atown I made myself at least 3 hours away from them! Plus with my sisters new move out state it will be hard for her to be here too… In my head I see them all sitting in the waiting room in pink or blue or whatever taking bets on if is a boy or a girl and the Hubby running out all excited saying it’s a ____! {Hello fantasy world I know I don’t live in a TV show but a girl can dream right.}

5. I am a little scared to have to go back to work after baby arrives- don’t get me wrong I LOVE my job and I am not ready to be finished yet, but I am worried about who is and how we are going to care for baby after I go back!

6. Feeling the baby is AMAZING!!! I longed for the days when I could feel the baby and know that all is well- those first few months were so agonizing having to wait for a doctors appointment to hear or see the baby. Now I get a few kicks or punches every few hours and every time it makes me smile and laugh. I love the feeling and can not seem to get enough of it!

7. Breastfeeding what to do… you see I am going to be to first in a while of my family to try this and I am a little nervous about it… Not the whole doing it I am excited about that, but the what to do when I go back to work, how long to do it and if I am going to be able to do it?

So I guess that sums up my fears, loves and well for lack of a better word complaints, for a little while- Hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend- we are headed to the Hill Country for the Hubby to do a bike ride on Leakey this weekend and I am pretty excited about it!

The importance of lesson plans…

So over the last few days we have has staff development and teacher conference days at school- So being a Sped Teacher we only attended a few conferences and spent the rest of the time working on paperwork. I chose to use some of my time to work on my lesson plans for when I will be out for maternity leave. Now when I told the Hubby what I was working on he said “ are you crazy it is only October you have 4 months to get that finished.”
At first I thought you know he might be right on this one, but then I thought nope my class is not like others I have several groups and they all work on different levels I need to be as prepared as possible. So I sat and mapped out the days I plan to be gone and what lessons need to be done, what worksheets need to be copied and so on {I am not finished but almost}. You see I did them for the days I plan to be out- I did not take into account the days the baby may make me be out…
You see we have two other preggo ladies at my school and one of them was placed on bed rest today- reality check- she is not due for another 2 weeks! In all my planning and thinking I did not take into account the days I “might” be out!! It is crazy to think, and plan for that matter, that I might not make it until my planned leave date… Who knew being a teacher and having a baby was so much work!! As planned out and organized as I am trying to be it seems real life can always through a wrench at you! Here’s to being prepared!!

A week of firsts and 22 Week preggo update!

So as for the week of first here we go- We a had our first un planned trip the the hospital we plan to deliver at- you see I was having severe pain in my lower belly on Tuesday morning, called the OB and she sent us to the hospital. Turns out I have a kidney infection, nothing too bad now I am on an antibiotic and will see the Dr. in a few weeks!
Next first- I really I mean really felt the baby kicking- it is so crazy and light like a child tapping on your belly!
The Hubby also got to feel the baby for the first time this week too! Once I figured out what I was feeling I was able to help him feel it- he said it feels like someone blowing a bubble on your hand!
Now for the preggo update….

How far along: 22 Weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a papaya 1 pound 4 ounces {according to the emergency sano we had at the hospital!}

Sleep: Is going well however, I have started having super weird dreams!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here! We even had to close our eyes again at the hospital when they were doing the sano to check on baby!

Maternity Clothes: yes-all the time!

Movement: yes- Both the Hubby and I have felt the baby- it is still very light, like someone tapping you with their finger.

Cravings: FRUIT- mostly apples and peanut butter!

Aversions: Still just the chicken.
Labor Signs: well what I thought could have been turned out to be a kidney infection with severe pain!
What I Miss: energy, coconut rum and Coke Zero
What I'm Looking Forward To: feeling the baby move
Weekly Wisdom: Stay off my feet-
Best Moment This Week: not having the baby yet.

Custom Art Work!!

Hi friends- I have some wonderful news to share! One of my teacher friends lets call her Art Girl has decided to open her own online business and I could not be happier for her! She is painting custom art work for babies, children and teens and she is AWESOME!! Art Girl is our art teacher at school, she is amazing with the kiddos and amazing with art. I have never been around an Art teacher like her she keeps the kids engaged and lets them focus on an artist or genera that they really learn about even the Kinder kiddos walk away knowing about the life of an artist and how they created their masterpieces! Anyway here are some examples of her beautiful work…

Preggo update 20 weeks!

How far along: 20 weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a cantaloupe {12 oz.}

Sleep: Well I am doing OK for the most part, but I cannot seem to get my body to stay on my side! It does not seem to matter that I sleep with a pillow I cannot stay off my back- when I wake up on my back my thigh is usually asleep.
Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here! We even had to close our eyes on the sono day so we did not see!

Maternity Clothes: yes-they are still falling down, but now with my new belt they stayed up better today!

Movement: yes- nothing the Hubby can feel yet, but I can feel it- my mom said it best- it is like you are at the top of a roller coaster and you know the feeling you get when you start down the hill that is the feeling I keep getting. Plus at the sono we did get to see all kinds of moving- playing with his/her feet and sticking out his/her tongue. It was so adorable.

Cravings: FRUIT- mostly apples and peanut butter and peaches!

Aversions: Still just the chicken.
Labor Signs: None. WAY too early. {But I have had a few problems with my varicose veins and now I have the wonderful new belt to wear for the next 4 months!!}
What I Miss: energy!
What I'm Looking Forward To: registering for baby things!

One year ago today The Hubby and I stood on the stairs of a beautiful old yellow house and became husband and wife surrounded by our loving family and friends! Thanks Hubby for making me the most loved wife in the world- Here’s to 60 or 70 more years of love and surprises!!

Friday Confessional

I confess- That I am a little excited that we just got 10 OK maybe 20 drops of rain on our house {it seems like months since we have had rain, we are suffering a MAJOR drought with massive fires in our area of Atown}
I confess- leaving school early before my Doctors appointment is wonderful- I do feel a little guilty!!
I confess- I am excited for the weekend even if we are spending it low key at home {the hubby and I are celebrating 1 year of marriage}
I confess- even though I am excited to wait until the baby is born to find out what it is- I am a little jealous of others who are finding out!
I guess that is all I have to confess this time- I hope to play along again!! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Just an FYI…

So since I have not blogged much about school I wanted to let you know- it is not because I have stopped loving it- it is because I am so stinking busy! My teaching schedule is so booked this year. I have not been this busy with this many kids in a long time. It is so crazy that I have to split my 45 min conference into 2 sections- so I am not getting much done during that time… My hope is that I am so busy because it is the beginning of the year and that things will calm down SOON! Thanks for understanding and know I will do my best to update as often as possible!!

Preggo update 18 weeks!

How far along: 18 weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a sweet potato

Sleep: Well I am doing OK for the most part, but I cannot seem to get my body to stay on my side! It does not seem to matter that I sleep with a pillow I cannot stay off my back!!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes- it is kinda annoying because they are a little too big and they seem to fall down all day- so I have resorted to wearing a rubber band tied to part of the top like a ponytail and that is working pretty well!

Movement: Not really- I think I have had a few flutters but I am not sure yet- they are not consistent-
Cravings: Today I really wanted some apples with peanut butter! Over all still the cheese- I cannot get enough!!

Aversions: Still just the chicken.

Labor Signs: None. WAY too early.

What I Miss: tying my shoes

What I'm Looking Forward To: seeing the baby next week at our sono!

Weekly Wisdom: Now that the weather has cooled down- do more walking!

So my parents came into town to celebrate my dad’s birthday and while they were here I talked them to helping out with the little project of painting the baby’s room! Here are some pictures from the makeover!!

These are all before pictures…{sadly we had moved out several things before I remembered to take pictures}

These are after we started and ran out of paint… Also a great way to see the new color {neutral yellow} I think it’s real name it Oat Yellow but we are calling it neutral because we are not finding out the gender so… yellow it is!

Finally these are the finished product- as you can see we don’t have a lot of things for babydog yet and we have a few left over things to find homes for!

So we had a great weekend- and I hope you did too!!

Quick school update….

So I made it trough my first day with students- I was almost kissed, had my hair eaten, made a student cry and used de-escalation skills all before 10! This could turn out to be a crazier year than I thought! The good news is the group of 8 that I was worried about was glad to see me and followed most directions well! Hope tomorrow brings different adventures!!

How far along: 16 Weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of an avocado

Sleep: For the most part I have been sleeping OK- however, I do get up several times and potty!
Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes- almost all the time! I had to buy some new shirts to wear to school so my kiddos won’t think I wear the same thing over and over.

Movement: Not that I can feel-but the Doctor had a hard time hearing a heart beat because the baby was moving all over the place!
Cravings: Cheesy yummy pizza!

Aversions: Still just the chicken.
Labor Signs: None. WAY too early.
What I Miss: Happy hour with the girls!
What I'm Looking Forward To: my students figuring out I am preggo.
Weekly Wisdom: Eat less sodium- I have been having some swelling problems…
Best Moment This Week: Hearing the heart beat and know everything is going well!

Out to lunch....

OK so I have missed posting this last week because I went back to school. I had know idea it would make me so tired and feel like I was back in the 1st trimester all over again... I know I missed a preggo update- but I will do my best to get back on track for next week! I have a doctors appt. on Monday and then we get kiddos on Tuesday! I am excited for this school year- but at the same time I am a little nervous because my schedule is jammed and I hope not to be tired all day and then come home and be useless to the hubby! While I am talking about the hubby I have to brag- since I was wiped out this week he was so sweet and cooked and cleaned up dinner last night- he would not let me help at all! It was wonderful I laid on the couch with my swelling feet propped up and watched a DVR episode of Project Runway. It was a wonderful night! hang in blogger friends I will try and do better in the coming weeks! Have a great weekend!!

Friday again time to play along with Lauren at The Little Things we Do!

1. My most favorite birthday was Two years ago we got engaged the day before my birthday and my family was coming to celebrate my birthday in Atown so they got to see the ring and we had a blast playing around town .
2. My worst birthday was I don’t have vivid memories of this because I was just turning 3 or 4- but I managed to put my hand through a glass door and had to go the ER and get stitches {that in the end I was allergic to}

3. My favorite birthday memory is getting engaged the day before my birthday!

4. The best birthday present I've ever received was hate to repeat but my engagement ring it was a surprise and it is beautiful! You can read all about it here!

5. The best birthday present I've ever given was I am not sure- I know the Hubby his first birthday we spent together I gave him an ipod- but there have been so many presents to others that I am sure have been better .

6. Birthdays are wonderful- some say they are a time to be sad because you are getting older me I think they are a time to celebrate that we are alive and kicking! I love then they give me an excuse to eat food I would not normally and usually get a wonderful breakfast- {my most fav meal!}

7. My favorite age so far has been my 30’s they have all been great and not just because they have been with my hubby but because I have been so happy- when I was younger 30 seemed so old now I know it is just the beginning of my married and motherhood life!

Enjoy I hope you all have a great weekend- I am headed to a wedding and I am so excited because it is two beautiful people who met at my wedding!

Preggo Update Week 14 and a garage remodel…

How far along: 14 weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a large lemon!

Sleep: I have started using a body pillow and it is helping me stay on my side, but I still cannot get enough!
Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes- almost all the time I can still ware some “normal” shirts but as for pants and shorts I am all maternity all the time.

Movement: Not that I can feel-
Cravings: Whataburger!! I love their gravy!

Aversions: Raw chicken! I have always had the squirms when it comes to chicken- but now it is worse!!
Labor Signs: None. WAY too early.
What I Miss: Coming home and making a cocktail or having a glass of wine while I cook dinner.
What I'm Looking Forward To: showing all my school buddy’s my preggo belly.
Weekly Wisdom: eat healthy- I cannot have Whataburger for every meal!!
Best Moment This Week: knowing the Hubby is getting excited because he is cleaning out the nursery… Not baby related…. Celebrating with two people who met at our wedding get married on Saturday.

On different note while I was out of town last week- {I am working on getting pictures because I forgot my camera and I have to get them from my mom…} the Hubby did a little cleaning and remodel of the garage and the baby’s room- here is what he did with a lot of the stuff we had in the baby’s room-

First off he had to build a new work bench so he could get all the work done… and a little box to store his rags for cleaning his bikes…

Then he built a TV stand to keep the card table and chairs in it and a fancy box to hold all the reusable bags so they don’t have to lay in the floor of the kitchen!

Then he built all this overhead storage to put a lot of the stuff we had in the room so it would not have to go in the attic.

Last he built an elevated wall shelf for our golf clubs… It is super fancy!
He is pretty handy with a saw and some wood and I am super excited he chose to do it all when I was out of town and that he is getting excited about the baby so he is cleaning out and getting rid of things we don’t need anymore. Hope you all have a great Thursday!!

Preggo Update

Ok so I was going to do my update on Thursday when I would be 13 weeks- but I will be in Cali helping my sister get moved in- so here is this weeks update!!

How far along: 13 weeks

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a peach!

Sleep: Wish I could get more- I am up about once every two hours to potty!!
Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: yes off and on- I only have one pair of shorts that still fits all the rest are maternity.

Movement: Not that I can feel-
Cravings: This week I have been craving pizza- gooey cheesy pizza!

Aversions: Funky smells- the meat and seafood department at the grocery store!
Labor Signs: None. WAY too early.
What I Miss: Sleeping through the night! I feel so bad because I keep waking the Hubby up!
What I'm Looking Forward To: figuring out what we are going to do with the baby’s room!
Weekly Wisdom: get as much rest as possible- I start back to school in a week!
Best Moment This Week: Showing my family my growing belly!

I could not wait any longer to tell my secret so here it is.............

WE ARE PREGNANT!!!

How far along: 11 weeks 6 5 days

Size of Baby: Babydog is the size of a plum! I am going with the 12 week measurement because well ~~one~~ two more days and we are 12 weeks!

Sleep: Can’t get enough of it!

Gender: We are not going to find out- we want to be surprised when baby gets here!

Maternity Clothes: Not really- I bought some for work but I have not worn them yet…

Movement: Not that I can feel- but at the last sonogram the baby was moving like crazy!

Cravings: liquid cheese aka the stuff they sell at the ballpark on nachos,

and buffalo chicken wings {boneless for me}

Aversions: Funky smells- I have a crazy sniffer anyway and the preggo thing has made it crazy!

Labor Signs: None. WAY too early.

What I Miss: Sleeping on my back. I'm in the process of training myself to sleep on my sides.

What I'm Looking Forward To: figuring out what we are going to do with the baby’s room!

I am back from Htown and we had a blast! My mom, sister, peep and Mimi (who lives there) spent 3 days playing cards and dominos- we also did a little shopping and the peeper found her new bunk beds for her new bedroom. The sad part is we took no pictures- I have got to get better at taking pictures- I took a camera and it stayed in my bag. But nun the less we had a blast. Now I am back home to the HOT HOT HOT weather we are expected to be over 100 again! Hope wherever you are you are staying cool-

I have found a new love from the past- no I am not cheating on my Hubby- I am talking food. Well I guess this counts as food- you see in College I ate this little gem like it was going out of style- it was cheep, you only needed a bowl, water and a spoon and you could cook it in the microwave.... Top Ramen {Oriental flavor of course.} One of my roommates and I could not get enough of the yummy soup. Well today as I was walking the aisles of the supermarket I spotted the lover on the shelf and I threw a few packages in the cart.

I get home and I get ready for lunch so I cook up a bowl and oh the memories of sitting on the floor in my dorm room trying to study with the TV on... Gotta love the Ramen!

I have been seeing the previews for the new Winnie the Pooh movie and I kinda want to see it- Now I am a 30 something and every time I see the preview it reminds me of childhood, and high school- you see I played golf in high school and the wonderful ladies that were on my team were the characters from Winnie the Pooh- I was Pooh and my bestie was Rabbit. I may have to barrow one of my friends kids and go see the movie- I can't decide if it is creepy for an adult to go see it without a child..... thoughts??

Weekend and 4th of July!

So the Hubby is kinda handy and Lulu my mom was super excited when he said he could help with her little remodel. So over the 4th of July weekend we spent the 3 days working on her kitchen eating cove, entry hallway, and wet bar... Here is a picture update of the steps taken and a little fun too--

So sorry it has been sooo LONG since I have posted- this summer has been crazy!! As I stated in my last post we had the Peeper for a week, here are some pictures that happened before she got here and sadly only a few of when she was here- I have got to get better at taking pictures!! Here we go......

Look close you can see Mr. Frog- he came out when we were watering-aka trying to save out yard from the 100+ temps!

This is my geranium that decided to commit plant suicide- now i don't have a super green thumb, but really you felt the need to jump!!

These are our baby doves- you see the Hubby and I have been watching them grow most of the spring. They sat for hours on the fence post looking into the kitchen as if they were saying "hey what is going on in there"

The Peep making a canyon out of the leftover dough I used to make a chicken pot pie- please note the feathers she has been in love with mine since I got them- so we made her some removable of course her mom was not in love with the idea of a 7 year old having them...

The Peep and the Hubby having a great time waiting for a table at our local Chuy's- we LOVE Chuy's and so does the Peep!!

Hope you all are having a great summer so far- mine is going by so fast for two reasons-- 1. A teachers summer always goes fast and 2...... I have some news that is almost ready to be shared! Say tuned for the next update!

So the summer got off to a crazy start! We finished school and the next day I spent in a 2 day training on inaugurating autistic students on to our campus- which I am so excited about- by the way- then I was off to Kansans City with the family! Well at least the girls of the family! We had a blast driving 9 hours across Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, to see our wonderful family there. We spent 6 days playing and having fun talking about "old times" and then drove 9 hours back- Overall the summer is off to a great start and next week is going to be an exciting one- we are getting The Peep for a few days! Her mama- aka my sister is headed to Cali to look for a house. That's right she is moving with the Peeper to Cali to be with her hubby- The summer seems to have lots of surprises in store! Stay tuned for more updates!!

Sorry all I have gone a little MIA- as most teachers will tell you the last few weeks of school are crazy and man is it so true! I have been running around like crazy and I feel like I am getting nothing finished! We have been getting out 5th graders who did not pass the stat test ready for the retake and it is hard work- I have been doing a reading group in the morning and a math group in the afternoon- each class lasts for 1 hour and 15 min. I feel like the kiddos are doing well and learning something but it is hard work- we are cramming in so many different concepts in such a short time! They all take the tests on Tuesday and Wednesday so I hope we have done enough!

So a friend of mine sister has these and I think they are super cute and funky! I originally saw them on a waitress at a sports bar when Mel and her cute boy were in town but did not know really what they were- then when I went to Spanz house and saw her sister I asked like a hundred questions! She has 2 different ones and they last for several months! I am totally going to get one here are a few pictures I found when I was looking for the place online that she went to- LOVE them!!!

OK since it has been like forever since I last posted, I decided to give a little pictorial recap- This is some of the fun we have had over the last 3 weekends! ENJOY!!

We stated with yummy breakfast tacos!

Then headed out on the water for some canoeing!

We had a beautiful sunset dinner at the Oasis

The next weekend was a blast at the ranch for the 7th annual Spokes 'N Spurs

The Peep got to ride a horse several times!!

Yummy BBQ this was my job at the ranch to make sure all the "under the tent" activities went well!

This last weekend the Hubby and I made it through a 45 mile ride mostly up hill but the view was beautiful!

Well it is that time of year again and it seems like every year it gets harder and harder! That's right it is testing season in the public schools and this year it could not be coming at a worse time... you see I am a volunteer and I volunteer for an event that takes place this weekend- not a problem if you are the type of volunteer that just shows up and does a job for one day... Nope I am the kind that has been helping to set the event up and make sure it all happens as planned. So, I have been super busy trying to make sure everything goes well- and make sure that my students are as ready as they can be for their tests that are happening on Monday and Tuesday of next week. I hope you all can forgive me if I take a short break form blogging so I can focus on the event and my kiddos!!

So Saturday the educators of Texas decided to let the Legislators and the Governor know we are not happy about the cuts they are purposing for public education! I am so proud to say that I participated with over 11,000 other Texas educators in a rally at the state capital! Here are a few pictures my friends took!

N-Nickname: I have several- my main one is Hilldog- given to me by my sister when she was in college... others, punkin- from my dad, Hili- from my mom and several of my friends, the Hubby calls me that to and I love it, and the last one given to me by a news paper article where they insisted on spelling my real name wrong several times... Hillard Bonan- mostly my sister is the only one who calls me that--

O-Overnight hospital stay: Yep- ACL replacement surgery that required an overnight- and it was no fun!!

P-Pet Peeve: Oh my- when I can hear others chew, smack, or eat with their mouth open...

X-Xrays you've had: MRI on my knee, Cat scan- when I was having super bad heaaches, wrist- when I broke it, dentist in the teeth... I think that is it.

Y-Yummy food you make: I have just really started cooking since I meet the Hubby- I have found that I really like it- My favorite thing to make is a dish I got from The Pioneer Woman... Penne a la Betsy- I do change it up a little though and add chicken with the shrimp...

Z-Zoo animal: The last time I went to the Zoo was with the Peep, and it was awhile ago... My fav animal would have to be the Elephants- I love how fun they are and how big and powerful they are.

This was the Peep the summer we went to the Zoo she was 5ish.

This week I am LOVING....

I am LOVING that our school system is doing it's best to save as many jobs as possible... (I just hope the state gets it act together and realizes we need to open the rainy day fund and give some to public school education, otherwise the Texas School systems are going to have a major problem!)

I am LOVING that it is MARCH!!! and that means we are closer to spring that winter!!

I am LOVING that the Red Buds are blooming and a beautiful!!

I am LOVING that scheduled posts it makes it easy to get my post set up and not have to wait until I get home after school to post...

And lastly I am LOVING my hubby!

If you live in Texas call your Reps and tell them it is time to save Texas education and the teachers who teach your children!

My district is going to loose 20 million from the state and that means we are going to loose teachers, nurses, and librarians! Not to mention all the admin, secretaries, and other needed staff! We need your help!!

So if you are a reader then you know I have not done a blog about my job in a while- one because I am trying to be a more positive teacher/person this year and two- because I was asked to stop talking about my fellow teachers... Well today was the straw that broke the proverbial camels back... You see I have become accustom to being ignored- treated like I am invisible and today it rubbed me the wrong way. I was taught to be polite, speak when you are spoken to, have a kind word to say. Well it seems that others were not taught the same values I was, because yet again this morning when I extended a greeting to another teacher I received silence back- not even a glance in my direction- it was as if I had not even spoken- so then I began to think to myself- self did you say that out loud did she simply dismiss you as if you had not even spoken- YES she had... again... This is an ongoing problem I am having, I speak and get nothing in return, and by golly it is making me crazy- All I have to say is thanks to my friends AKA the Kinder team, mixed with a few others- (if you are readers you know who you are...) and an administrator- I would be thinking of places to teach next year... It makes me sad to know that the actions of one, can make the life for others so miserable, and when she makes me miserable that makes me mean- and I do not like to be a mean person- I hope I can stay positive for the next month hopefully at least, long enough to make it to Spring Break...

Hello friends...

Sorry for the delay this week in getting out this week's 10 things to be happy about- yesterday was a hard day at my school... we had a teacher pass away over the weekend and everyone was and is in shock. I think what added some stress for most was the fact that she was a Kinder teacher so the kiddos in her class as well as all the students who had her in the past are having a hard time understanding that she is not coming back... I have to say I was so thankful to my sister for having a beautiful daughter who had to deal with death a few years ago when we lost Big Auntie, my great aunt, because I heard the same words she spoke to the Peep coming out of my mouth when I told a class of kinder students about the sad news..... I hope all of you have a great Tuesday and that you take a moment and say a prayer of thanks for all your family. friends, and co-workers.

Here is my list of things to be happy about...

1. feeling the love of your family 190 miles away
2. feeling the love of a husband over the phone
3. knowing you have made a child's life just a little bit better
4. being there for your friends as they go through a hard time
5. being able to keep your cool when 20 6 yr olds are asking about death
6. knowing your faith in God is strong
7. knowing when to hug and not talk
8. having an administration who is able to support a grief stricken campus
9. parents who care enough to come to the school to show support

Hello all it has been a long time since I have been able to play along with 5 question Friday- I am so glad to be back!!

Here we go...
1. Where did you meet your spouse and did you instantly know it was love?
The Hubby and I meet in the front yard of a friends house on a set up that neither of us knew about... It was a Halloween party and I was dressed up, he was not... I think we both knew it was love at first sight. Our friend introduced us and we were never apart for the rest of the night we talked for hours! He was visiting from A town, but did not want to go back home the next day, he ended up leaving a driving home about 9pm the day after. We have not gone a day without talking since!

2. What is your favorite room in your house?
I would have to say our bedroom- Since the wedding we have been able to make the room more cozy with all the wedding presents, plus the new comforter helped alot!

3. Can you wiggle your ears?
NOPE!

4. What is your evening ritual?
After cooking and helping with clean up- I like to watch a little TV, make the coffee for the next morning and snuggle in the bed with the hubby (after washing my face and brushing teeth of course!)

5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
A LOT! I do not do well if I have only had 5-6 hours I really need to have 7-8 or more hours in order to function and be in a good mood! I CAN function with less sleep I am just not a very happy person!

I also have to brag a little today! I have been DRA testing my kiddos (it is a reading test that helps determine their reading level) and I had one of my kids go up SO FAR 8 levels (I ran out of time and have to continue testing him Monday to see if he goes up anymore!) I am so excited for him he has been working so had and is making great improvements!

I got a catalog in the mail at school today and it made me long to make new bulletin boards! I think between the smell of freshly sharpened pencils and making bulletin boards-teaching is one of the best jobs around!

This week I am LOVING- a short week! Having Monday off seems to have made me able to work better! I had a great day yesterday and today is looking like another great one!

I am LOVING my spin class. It was a hard, but good class last night and tonight should be good too!

I am LOVING that is warmer this week outside- I am not a fan of the cold weather!

I am LOVING white out- I have been making practice test for my kiddos and have to white out an answer choice for them, it has made the test making so much easier that cut and paste!

This one with the foam brush is my favorite!!

Hello all- I hope you had a great weekend with a bonus day off, I hope! We had a great weekend celebrating the Hubby's birthday- the weather did not play out well for us but we managed to have some fun anyway with the family!
I have a correction from last weeks post... the doe the Hubby shot was about 100 pounds... it was 30 pounds of meat that we are processing- sorry!

This week on Fun Friday we are getting ready for the family to come to town for the Hubby's birthday! I spent most of last night getting ready (making beds, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms etc.) All so we can have a few fun fulled days with the fam!

I am also excited about the weekend because it is a long one! We have the day off Monday so I get to sleep late!!! I hope you all have a great one too!

Today at school we had a goodie day- it is a day where we bring food an eat well! It was my turn to be in charge! Well that mostly meant I organized and asked people to do different things. Our theme was soups and chili. It turned out to be a great theme because the weather has been so cold here. I did chicken and dumplings, and I think they turned out pretty good.

It is amazing to me that I could eat soup for lunch and be full! ~~Don't mind the two brownies I had as desert...~~

Sorry all this week's is late due to benchmark testing... Yep you guessed it it is that time again when we all go crazy and get ready for beautiful state testing! On a happier and fun note the Hubby and I had a great weekend- we spent it on the deer lease with our friends Lockman and his wife- the Hubby got a almost 30 pound doe and I got my first kill, a 180 poundish boar! (I will be posting pictures on my blog later today or tomorrow!) Also I have to give a praise for my cousin- came through surgery with flying colors, and is home and feeling better! Anyway here are this week's ten things to be happy about!

Yummy Pumpkin Bread and the Peep!

It is that time of year again where the smells of pumpkin bread fill the air and the Peep gets to visit! You see as a teacher I get to get a few days... OK maybe 2 weeks off for Christmas Vacation. So for the past several years I have made pumpkin bread for my family and friends- and for the 2nd year in a row the Peep has helped! I must say this year went a lot smother than last year... I can't remember why, but we seemed to not have as many spills this time and we are only making 1 batch, so no washing pans and tools by hand in order to get the next batch finished. Overall the baking and the trip went well the Peep, hubby and I had a blast spending the few days before Christmas together! She is a great trainer for when the Hubby and I decide to have a peep of our own (God willing)! I hope everyone had a great of a Christmas season as we did!!

Finally a Honeymoon!

OK so I know some peeps have to wait years to go on there Honeymoon, we only had to wait two months- hazards of being a teacher I guess. The Hubby and I headed out to Mexico and layed on the beach for 5 days and had a blast! The resort was all inclusive so we ate too much and drank just right! We did not do any of the day trips we just decided to enjoy each other and the soak up some rays! Here are some of the beautiful pictures, they make it super hard to leave...

Well in case you have not noticed- I have been a bad blogger this school year! You see I used to be able to sit during my conference time and write about my day and that is not the case any longer. The problem with that is by the time I get home all the crazy and silly things my kiddos and I have done all day seem to not be as important... Crazy right- Well I am going to do my best to make myself come home and write, maybe not about my kiddos but at least about myself... So please forgive me for my bad habits as of late and please look forward to up coming posts!

I did it!! I finished the Hubby's stocking and I am super proud of myself! I have to wait for Lulu to put the name on it, but he is set for this Christmas! Here is a picture of the finished product...My next sewing project is going to take me a little longer than this one and I am not quite ready to show pictures yet, but know there will be more sewing in the Hilldog house!

What to do when you are a teacher with no voice...

And by no voice I don't mean nobody is listening-I mean litterly no VOICE!! It seems that we have a little virus going through my school causing the teachers to loose their voice. I left work early on Thursday because I was feeling awful and my voice was slowly going out. I got home and slept until the hubby got home and then slept some more. Got up Friday was unable to speak and felt like an elephant had slept on my chest so decided to call in sick. It was a good choice because I proceeded to sleep for most of the afternoon and was still unable to speak when the hubby got home again from work. So when you are a teacher without a voice you stay home a sleep I guess- I did however get a little done for the few hours I was awake... I finished the hubby's stocking! All it needs is his name and my Lulu has to do that for me. I will post a picture with the next set of wedding pictures I got Friday!! Hope you all have a great weekend! Me I am trying to get better so I can go back and teach Monday!!
